Atarah Gur has lived in Israel most of her life, having moved from the United States when she was a young child. She presently lives in Jerusalem with her family.

1976-1977: Hebrew University, Israel--Jewish Philosophy & Psychology
1978-1985: Michlalah, Israel--Tanach & Torah Shel Ba’al Peh (Written & Oral Law).

1982-1984: Machon Gavoah [Higher Level Studies] on Land of Israel.

Teaching Experience:
Michlala Machal: 1983-1987, Program for Girls from Abroad, Subjects taught: Temples, Maharal, Haftorah’s/the Prophets. Michlalah Israeli Program: Assist for Rav Shwimmer, portion Shoftim in book of Deuteronomy/Devarim, 1982-84.
Machon Ora [Women's branch of Machon Meir]: Taught Ba'alei Teshuvah & converts,1982-1988. Taught Jewish history, the prophets Elijah & Elisha.
Ayelet HaShachar [Breslov School for Ba'alei Teshuvah]- 1986,Parsha, Rabbi Nachman's books.
Michlelah-Emunah [for Graphics and Fine Arts] from 1997-1999: Taught the Three Temples.
